Visitation - Thursday 6-8 pm

Funeral - Friday at 3 pm

Both services will be held at Freedom Baptist.

Shirley was and is a strong woman. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother great grandmother beloved sister wife and friend. Our prayers are with the whole Jones family. When my kids was small and went to aunt Jo and Uncle Kevin house they loved to goto grandma Shirley's house. Thank you Shirley for all you did for everyone. You touched so many life's. Obituary via Davie Funeral Services:

Shirley Wall Jones, 78, died Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at Forsyth Medical Center. Born June 10, 1938, she was the daughter of the late William Harrison Wall and Elizabeth Belle Smith Wall.

 

For many years, she worked in housekeeping at Lake Myers Campground. She attended Freedom Baptist Church.

 

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, William Franklin “Sim” Ray; three sons: William Benjamin “Sam” Jones, Jr. (Robin) of East Bend, Kelvin Ray Jones (Joanne) and Keith Eric Jones (Christal), both of Mocksville; four daughters: Mary Jones Hatley (Michael), Ellie Bobbitt (Scott) and Angela Jones Tran (Thanh), all of Mocksville, and Pamela Jones of High Point; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Roberts of Mocksville; 20 grandchildren: Lisa Niblo, Amy Wood, Paula Maxfield, Sonya Horne, Tiffany Holbrook, Curtis Poole, DeeAnn Bobbitt, Amanda Colwell, Timothy Bobbitt, Randy Jones Jr., Sara Jones, Sharon Soloman, Michael Jones, Gregory Jones, Dylan Harrison, Stephen Harrison, Brandon Jones, Cody Tran, Ashleigh Tran, Zakary Tran; and 21 great grandchildren.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William “Bub” Jones; one son, Randy Jones; a son-in-law, John Hatley; two grandsons, Matthew Jones and Kevin Scott Jones; and four brothers and two sisters.

 

The family will receive friends at Freedom Baptist Church (US Hwy. 64 East at Cornatzer Road) from 6-8 PM Thursday. The Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at the church at 3:00 PM Friday with Pastor Billy Louya officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Chapel UMC Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials to help offset final expenses are requested to be directed to Davie Funeral Service, 416 Valley Road, Mocksville, NC 27028 which is serving the family.
